This is a herbaceous annual plant that grows in

(peperomia pellucid) (renren, Yoruba), it is very valuable for children’s
ailments like diarrhea and fevers. Boil in water and drink one glass twice
daily, or in every two hours in acute cases. Catnip tea can be taken for
nervous tension, headaches and insomnia as it calms. It also assists digestion.
It settles stomach after vomiting. It is also good for anaemia and cough. It is
used with bitter kola ground together and applied to mumps. It is good for
kidney complaints, pile, epilepsy and convulsion. May also be used with other
herbs like damiana, gotu kola and vitamin B complex for those who want to add
weight. The tea used in enema is effective in convulsion, relieves headache,
expels worms in children, restores mensuration, frees the flow of urine when
blocked. Never boil the fresh herb,
rather steep it in hot water.
