Macaroni cheese

100 g macaroni.                                                        15 g margarine

100 g grated cheese.                                                15 g flour

½ teaspoon cayenne or ground fresh pepper.   250 ml milk

                                                                                     Tiny shavings of margarine

1 Break up macaroni into small even-sized pieces and cook in boiling salted water until soft.

2 Make a thick white sauce with the margarine, flour and milk. Cook thoroughly.

3 Add the macaroni and about two-thirds of the cheese and seasoning to the sauce.

4 Pour into a greased pie dish and put shavings of margarine over and sprinkle remainder of cheese.

5 Brown in a hot oven or under hot grill

6 Serve very hot.
