Why Bluetooth Technology Still Thrives Today

The transfer of files such as audio, video or picture files between two mobile devices like phones, laptops, tablets, etc was pioneered by the Infrared technology. Though, mobile devices had to be placed at very close range for communication between them to occur. Also, transfer of fairly large files was almost impossible with infrared technology. This therefore puts infrared technology at a disadvantageous position. As a fix to this shortcomings of infrared technology, Bluetooth technology was innovated.

The Bluetooth was designed in such a way that it has search or scan feature. Therefore, it can search or scan for other similar nearby Bluetooth enabled devices, and establish communication with them provided it doesn't exceed the Bluetooth coverage bandwidth of 100m. Bluetooth devices that are enabled beyond this bandwidth would not be visible as a result of attenuation i.e loss of signal.

Consequently, the advent of Bluetooth technology crippled infrared technology as far as file transfer is concerned. It proved to be a better technology for transferring audio, video, and picture files. However, Bluetooth technology had its own fair share of challenges and shortcomings.

Firstly, it could not be used to transfer files other than audio, video or picture files. File format such as doc, pdf, cdr, svg, etc, couldn't be transferred using Bluetooth.

Secondly, the transfer of very heavy files can be relatively very slow. It can be quite frustrating transferring very large files using Bluetooth technology.

Thirdly, Bluetooth compatibility differs from devices to devices. Therefore, while some devices are compatible with each other and can pair, some others are not compatible and pairing process continues to fail. Some China mobiles for example are usually unable to pair with original phones from brands like Nokia, BlackBerry, Samsung, HTC, Ericsson, etc.

Therefore, the need for a better alternative for the transfer of files between mobile devices no matter what format was paramount. This prompted android developers to rise up to the challenge. They inferred that since android devices are in high demand globally,, developing an android app capable of transferring any kind of file at relatively high speed was necessary. Thus xender, share it, etc, android based applications were developed to save the situation.

These applications which were powered by wireless technology are capable of transferring files in any format at a very high speed. Transferring of relatively large file conveniently is also possible. The QR code or device name in some cases is used to connect devices for onward file transfer process. Therefore, what Bluetooth technology could not, xender and others did it.

As a consequence to that effect, Bluetooth technology is under serious existence threat. If adequate precautions are neglected, the possibility of becoming grounded looms. Therefore, drastic measures must be taken to advance its functionality otherwise, Bluetooth technology would be history just like infrared technology, as far as file transfer process is concerned.

So therefore, an urgent and immediate intervention to save Bluetooth technology from extinction was inevitable. A need for diversification of Bluetooth functionality was Paramount. Other usage of Bluetooth must be discovered on time.  However, it was later discovered by researchers that apart from file transfer between mobile devices, other Bluetooth enabled devices can actually be developed and paired with mobile devices Bluetooth in order to perform their functions.

Hence today, audio sound system, TV, music player, car stereo, mini audio speaker, printers can all be Bluetooth enabled. They can be paired with mobile devices to carry out their functions such as printing, scanning, media player, video playback, etc.

This discovery was what saved Bluetooth technology and has sustained its relevance in the world till today. Otherwise, hmm! I reserve my comments!

Wow!As I received this piece from its source I put down in writing. Therefore, gratitude is my for being permitted to share this with everyone despite the deficiencies that might have arisen from transmission.
