COLITIS.

This is an inflammation of the lining of the colon. It is medically referred to as ulcerative colitis. It most often affects women and young adults. Some doctors believe that nervous tension may be a factor in ulcerative colitis, although the exact cause is unknown. Symptoms include pain on the lower left side of the abdomen, diarrhoea, fever and blood in the feace.

There are good anti-inflammatory herbs that can easily remedy this condition. A combination of calendula marigold, phyllanthus amarus (eyinbisowo, Yoruba), cayenne pepper, and tropical stinging nettle (Larportea ovalifolia=Fluerya ovalifololia) (ewe esinesin, yoruba). Tea made from an infusion of any of these herbs or in combination should be sipped throughout the day. To remove the nervous tension take mistletoe tea and passion flower tea. Diet is very important in the treatment of any disorder of the digestive system. Diet rich in fiber such as whole grain preparation formulated by me, which i have found quite useful, is made from a combination of soya beans, sorghum and wheat.
