Immature coconut water is also good for the kidney and urinary disorders. For kidney inflammation take fruit and vegetables juices only (fast) for 7-10 days. Carrot juice with no water added is excellent. A glass of carrot juice mixed with one table spoonful of honey and 1 teaspoonful of lime taken first in the morning is beneficial. Also good for kidney inflammation are coconut water, grape fruit and orange juice. Herbs for this condition are mistleteo, garlic, horsetail and golden rod. The last two are foreign herbs. Common cold moss (lycopodium, clavatum) (gbontiti, Yoruba) is another very good herb for kidney stones and renal colic. Common club moss is infused in boiling water and taken one cup two times a day. Pound some quantity of plantain roots in a mortar and press out the juice. Mix 1tablespoon thrice daily. Concentrated bitter leaf juice is also good for kidney problems. Practitioners are use roots of broomweed (sida acuta), (isankotu, Yoruba) boiled in water for kidey problems. The dose is half a glass twice daily. Chew several water melon seeds to cleanse the kidney inside out.
