GINSENG

Common Names: Five-fingers root, American ginseng, ninsin, red berry, garantogen, sang.
Part Used: Root
Medicinal Properties: Demulcent, stomachic, mild stimulant, tonic.
Description and uses: The word “panax” in the botanical name means “all-healing”. Ginseng is very commonly used in hot, moist climates as a preventive against all manner of illnesses, and is also used in severe diseases of all types. Promotes appetite and is useful in digestive disturbances. Flavored with any flavoring you like, ginseng makes an agreeable and very effective drink for colds, chest troubles and coughs.
